OA's Inititives to Keep Patients Safe
Dr. Heckler explains OA's use of Telehealth
Information about Telehealth
How Does it work?
Telehealth allows our patients to electronically connect face-to-face with their medical provider from virtually anywhere. We utilize secure, HIPAA-compliant tolls from HEALOW and doxy.me to provide video conferencing between patient and provider. All you need is a computer, or smartphone or other mobile device with an internet connection.
During this global COVID-19 pandemic, many insurance carriers, including Medicare & Medicaid, are expanding coverage of telehealth in an effort to support social distancing, while maintaining patient care. Contact your private insurance carrier to review their coverage options.
A telehealth appointment with your physician is processed in the same manner as any other visit, and is submitted by us to your insurance provider.
Scheduling a Telemedicine Visit
To schedule a telehealth visit, call our office at 800-824-9861 and our scheduling staff will walk you through how to connect with your physician virtually. You will need a computer, tablet or phone that is capable of video and audio, and a reliable internet connection.
If necessary, your physician can prescribe some prescriptions during your virtual appointment. The prescription would be sent electronically to your pharmacy.
If you have more questions about OA and it’s use of telehealth appointments, call our office at 800-824-9861.
In the event you need to be seen in person, our scheduling staff will advise you on our procedures for your safety. This will include waiting in your car until the time of your appointment, and limiting visits to just the patient and one caregiver if necessary.
